Your child is discovering how letters work together to form words and create fun things to read. To support her emerging literacy:
Have a daily reading time. Read stories and poems together.
Use artwork. When your child draws a picture, ask her to tell you a story about it. Write it down and then read it to her.
Play word games. Say, “I’m thinking of something red.” Can she guess what it is? Or take turns coming up with lists of rhyming words (blue, true, glue).
