Fun Ways to Celebrate Fall With Your Preschooler
We may already be in the fall season but there is no better time to celebrate than right now. With so many ways to enjoy autumn, the Woodcrest’s way is always to combine education with fun. For fun ways to celebrate fall with your preschooler, read below.
-
Visit a Farm or go Apple picking
While many may say the bounty of summer is their favorite, we certainly love celebrating Fall’s harvest. And best of all, after the busy summer season, many farms open themselves up for exploring in the Fall. Surprisingly, there are quite a few places to visit in Los Angeles, and what’s even better is that it’s safe by allowing you to be outdoors.
-
Enjoy the Fall Foliage
Los Angeles does indeed have fall colors. Mountainous environs like Oak Glen and Big Bear are usually the go-to, but you can find some splashes of color closer to home, too. Taking in the fall foliage with your preschooler is a wonderful opportunity to teach your child about the changing of seasons
-
Make leaf people
Find a few of your favorite leaves and turn them into people for a fun, super easy craft. Then branch out and make a whole leaf zoo with your little one!
-
Make bird feeders
Gather pine cones and help your preschooler add some peanut butter before rolling them into birdseed. Then hang the pinecones from a tall branch and keep track of all the birds who come to visit! You’ll both be surprised at home many feathery friends stop by.
- DIY an Outdoor Fall Festival
Is your annual fall fair canceled this year? Set up your own at home for a fun-filled weekend extravaganza. You can make it a family fair of your choosing activities like a gourd ring toss, pumpkin knock-down games, and even fun prizes for the whole family.

Get Crafty with Corn Cobs
While you prep dinner, let your child have fun with leftover corn. Once you’ve removed the husk, they can paint the ears different colors and roll them over paper for some refrigerator-worthy fall artwork.
